Cake smashes are a messy but fun way to celebrate your special ones first birthday!  The session begins with special portraits of your loved one (which could include family). This allows baby to warm up and feel safe, as no doubt they may be a little overwhelmed when they arrive. As soon as baby is happy and ready to start, we introduce the cake, at this point I capture their first nibbles of the cake and the smiles and giggles of the first smash! It is important to know that not all babies like smashes, they can become overwhelmed or simply not like the cake. But do not worry! I have had many experiences where we have overcome and been able to capture a full gallery. All sessions include props and I supply the birthday cake from a local baker. I am happy to discuss any ideas/ themes you would like to incorporate into the session, themed cake smashes come at a slightly higher cost. As studio sessions are limited, I do book up quickly therefore it is essential to confirm your session well in advance.
